Tree Plantation and Forage Plant Distribution Program

Location: Neelakantha-11, Dhading
On 14th July 2024, the Dikshya Foundation, in collaboration with World Wide Goat Project Nepal (WWGPN) and Goreto Treks & Expedition Pvt. Ltd., successfully conducted the Tree Plantation and Forage Plant Distribution Program under the theme:
"Green Forage, Thriving Farms – Tree Plantation for a Sustainable Tomorrow"
This grassroots initiative provided much-needed forage plants to local goat farmers in Neelakantha-11, Dhading, while also planting trees across farmlands, schools, and public spaces to promote climate-friendly, self-reliant farming.
🌍 Taking Climate Responsibility — Locally for a Global Impact
This program is a local climate resistance action, carried out at the grassroots level as a symbol of our collective commitment to combating the climate crisis.
Under the theme:
“We take our own responsibility — removing our carbon footprints locally.”
By planting forage trees, restoring greenery, and supporting eco-livelihoods, we are taking direct action to:
- Offset carbon emissions
- Restore biodiversity
- Build resilience to erratic weather patterns
In a broader sense, if every individual commits to these actions in their own communities, we collectively create a global impact in addressing the burning issue of climate change.
🌿 Program Highlights
- 🌱 Forage Plant Distribution: Over 500 high-nutrition saplings (Napier, Mulberry, Leucaena) distributed to goat farmers.
- 🌳 Tree Plantation Drive: Trees planted in schools, farms, and public lands to combat deforestation and improve microclimates.
- 📚 Farmer Training: Practical sessions on planting techniques, forage maintenance, and benefits for sustainable goat farming.
- 🤝 Community Engagement: Volunteers, youth, farmers, and local leaders came together for an inspiring act of environmental unity.
📆 Annual Commitment: World Environment Day
We are proud to announce that this program will now take place every year on World Environment Day (June 5) — a symbolic date for our ongoing environmental commitment and a day to renew our pledge to act locally and impact globally.
